As part of its continuing efforts to strengthen its asset base that will cope with growth & market demand and development, Gothong Southern Shipping Lines recently acquired a couple of Flat Racks that will surely provide a broader range of safe transport options to its customers.
Flat Racks are strong based platform containers which can be used to transport various types of oversized, over height or heavy cargo which will not fit inside a container, such as cable reels, road work machines, factory parts, trucks, sailboats, etc.
To ensure safe and secure transport of cargoes loaded onto flat racks, GS terminal operations experts work with professional port service providers in planning and executing safe stowage of cargoes on flat racks which includes observance of proper loading, lashing & unloading procedures.

Gothong Southern Shipping Lines continues to be one of the leading shipping companies in the local shipping industry in terms of profitable growth. With reliable vessel schedules to and from four major cities in the Philippines using a fleet of young vessels and brand new facilities and equipments at very competitive rates, it is no surprise that GS customers continue to grow in numbers.
Though the bulk of GS shipments are containerized cargoes, GS vessels have been used quite a few times to transport non-containerized cargoes either thru vessel chartering or as supplement cargo to any of its regular trade routes.
Sometime back, GS was commissioned by DESCO Project Management to transfer Chevron's oil drilling machineries, including platforms and other related heavy equipments and trucks from their abandoned site in Aloquinsan Cebu to one of their drilling sites in Tabaco, Albay.The charter service, which took off from the port of Cebu and on to Aloguinsan to pick up the break bulk cargoes that were eventually discharged at the port of Tabaco, Albay took about 6 days. GS executives accompanied the GS crew all the way to Tabaco to ensure a safe and efficient transport of these heavy machineries.

This modern European built 256 TEUs Container Ship and the youngest in our fleet is equipped with the latest navigation & safety equipment, two state of the art 50 Ton Hagglund cranes and powered by world class MAK-MTU German Machineries.
M.V. Don Alfredo Sr. 2 will join the Gothong Southern Freight Liners fleet by the 2nd quarter of 2013.

Living up to the legacy of his great grandfather Don Carlos A. Gothong Sr., the founder of Carlos A. Gothong and Co., Inc. Charles Robert Gothong believes business is all about the people.
At first glance, the 26-year old fourth generation Gothong, who prefers to be called Charles or Bobby, has all the makings of a basketball star with his towering 6-foot-four frame, but when he starts talking about business, he strongly exudes family values and entrepreneurial spirit making him worth to be called a Gothong.
Bobby, who graduated with a bachelor's degree in Business Administration major in International Business Management studies in Northwood University in Michigan, USA, said people are core businesses and what makes Gothong Southern (GS) unique is its people whom he consider as the company's best assets.
